A Safe Space for Regulation, Relaxation & Growth

The Sensory Room is a specially designed space created to support children with diverse sensory needs. Whether a child is seeking stimulation or needs help calming down, this room offers a variety of tools and equipment that engage the senses in a safe, controlled environment. It is especially beneficial for children with Autism, Sensory processing disorder, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences, providing opportunities for:

Anxiety & Emotional regulation

Sensory integration

Motor skill development

Self-expression and confidence building

This manual is designed to help caregivers, educators, and therapists use the room effectively and safely, ensuring that every child has a positive and meaningful sensory experience.

LED Bubble Tube in Sensory Rooms – A Visual Delight for Calming and Focus

An LED bubble tube is a tall, transparent tube filled with water and lit by colour-changing LED lights. Air bubbles constantly rise through the water, creating a soothing visual and auditory effect. It's commonly used in sensory rooms to help calm, engage, and regulate.

Spinning Chair in Sensory Rooms – Movement for Focus and Regulation

A spinning chair is a special seat that allows a child to spin or rotate safely. It provides vestibular input—which means it helps stimulate the balance and movement system in the brain. This input is crucial for kids who need help with body awareness, focus, or emotional regulation.

Why Us

VR in a Sensory Room – Movement-Based Virtual Play with Purpose

Virtual Reality uses a headset to create immersive, 3D environments that a child can explore visually and sometimes interact with using controllers or head movement. In a sensory room, VR can simulate calming nature scenes, educational adventures, or interactive games that support emotional regulation, social learning, and sensory exploration. It feels like a game—but it’s rooted in occupational therapy strategies.

Plasma Lamp in a Sensory Room – Visual Wonder & Gentle Engagement

A Plasma lamp is a clear glass sphere filled with gases and powered by electricity to create colourful light streams that react to touch and movement. When a child touches the globe, the “lightning” inside follows their fingers, creating a captivating visual and tactile experience.

Sensory Soft Play in a Sensory Room – Support for Focus, Posture & Regulation

Sensory soft play includes foam-based shapes, tunnels, blocks, wedges, crash mats, and climbing equipment. These are made from soft, safe materials that allow children to jump, climb, crash, roll, push, and crawl—all while promoting sensory integration through tactile and proprioceptive input.

Sensory Tiles in a Sensory Room – provide Visual, Tactile, and Proprioceptive input

Sensory tiles are interactive floor or wall panels filled with colourful liquids, textures, or patterns that move, change, or react when touched or stepped on. They provide visual, tactile, and proprioceptive input — helping children engage their senses and improve regulation.
